Selena Gomez opened up to Elle.com about self-confidence and strength in a new interview on the shoot for her Strong Girl SGxPUMA activewear campaign.

“I think it’s important for girls to know the strength in everything, their identity and their soul, lies within themselves,” Gomez told Elle. “And too much today you give that away so easily, from social media to school or relationships. And I think it’s important — I want to remind girls that they’re perfectly strong the way they are.”

Gomez’s brand features taglines like “Strong inside and out” — and being that the 26-year-old singer is all about body positivity, the encouraging words are fitting. She wants fans to feel comfortable in whatever they’re wearing and doesn’t think that comfortable clothing needs to be worn only to the gym. She said the jumpsuit in her collection, for example, is the type of piece she’d pair with white sneakers and wear to a restaurant.

While her clothing inspiration comes from all over the place, she’s in no rush to design her own line. She’s content with her partnerships and is all about women feeling powerful in their fashion choices.
