Grimes took to YouTube to share a video for her demo of “Pretty Dark” on Wednesday (March 13), and assured fans that it is not her new single.
In the dynamic vertical clip, Grimes performs the airy, synth-pop track with diamond-like face filters as she emotes the yearning lyrics. “I wish I could be, your first love the way you are mine/ Wish you didn’t remember this feeling, but knew it, the way I know it,” she sings.
In the video’s description, the Canadian singer explained that the song is from an AR musical she’s working on, adding that she “made the song and video yesterday so obvs majorly rough.”
She added that while she finishes up her as-yet-untitled fifth album, she is “just start casually dropping stuff as I see fit.”
