Dua Lipa leaps 5-1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart (dated Jan. 4) with “Don’t Start Now.” Her seventh No. 1, the poppy original was remixed by Dom Dolla, Purple Disco Machine and Kungs, among others.

The English singer first led on Jan. 14, 2017, with “Blow Your Mind (Mwah).” Since then, her seven No. 1s are the most of all acts; Ariana Grande and Rihanna follow with six each in that span.

Lipa lands her first Dance Club Songs leader since “Electricity,” with Silk City, topped the Nov. 24, 2018-dated survey.

(The four-spot jump to the top for “Start” is the greatest since R3HAB roared 6-1 with “Icarus” on the chart dated Dec. 24, 2016.)

“Don’t” also spends a second frame at No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. It became Lipa’s third leader on the list, after “One Kiss” (with Calvin Harris; 10 weeks at No. 1) and “New Rules” (four weeks), both in 2018.

Also of note on Dance Club Songs, Benny Mardones is back on a Billboard chart for the first time in over 16 years with “Into the Night (2019)” (37-35). The pop singer had last scaled a survey with “I Know You by Heart” (with Katrina Carlson), a No. 25 Adult Contemporary hit in 2003.

“Night” returns thanks to remixes from Dirty Werk, Eric Kupper and more. It’s the latest go-round for the song, which in its original ballad form, hit No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1980 and returned for a second run, reaching No. 20 in 1989.
