Zayn and Zhavia Ward put their own romantic spin on the classic Disney ballad “A Whole New World” in a video released on Thursday morning (May 9). In the nighttime visual set in a massive temple bathed in warm light, Zayn opens with a sleepy-eyed delivery of the line, “I can show you the world/ Shining, shimmer, splendid/ Tell me princess now when did you last let your heart decide.”

Singing to a finger-snap accompaniment, Zayn gazes at the sky and wanders the night streets as a spare beat kicks in and Ward — a former contestant on Fox’s The Four singing competition — joins in, their voices intertwining over the swelling strings. The moody version of the movie’s signature ballad will play over the end credits of the live action remake, which opens in theaters on May 24. The updated track was produced by Saltwives (Alex Oriet and David Phelan) and the video was directed by Philip Andelman (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran).

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning song written by Alan Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice originally appeared in the 1992 animated Aladdin and featured vocals from Brad Kane and Lea Salonga; a single was also released featuring vocals from Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. Will Smith appears as the Genie in the reboot, which was directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Mena Massoud as Aladdin.
