Yungblud is hoping to send a message of hope and confidence on “Cotton Candy,” a sexual liberation anthem from his upcoming second album, Weird! (Nov. 13).

The jangly pop tune is the fourth taste of the singer’s next full-length, and follows “God Save Me, But Don’t Drown Me Out,” “Strawberry Lipstick” and the title track.

“And I wanna get stuck between your teeth like cotton candy/ So you’ll remember me, darling,” he sings on the pre-chorus over a rubbery baseline and steady beat. “I’m losing myself in you/ And you, and you, and you, and you, I know/ I’m losing myself in you/ And you, and you, and you, and you, I know.”

“‘Cotton Candy’ is about sexual liberation. To me sex and sexuality is about freedom and the idea that you can to lose yourself in other people of all genders, of all shapes and sizes to find yourself and figure out who you truly are,” the singer said in a statement. “Sexual interaction should not be shamed, it should be celebrated because to have safe sex is to spread love and the world needs love more than ever right now. This song is so important to me because i see and speak to my fan base, facing insecurities around sexual interaction and I want to let them know that it is ok to be EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE and have the right to unconditionally love who they want and be loved in return.”

Yungblud announced the details of his upcoming The Weird Time of Life Tour last week, a 16-date global digital outing that will kick off on Nov. 16 in London, with each show slated to have a unique, localized experience with a full production; tickets and dates available here.
