Selena Gomez better get her business plan in order, because she’s diving into the Shark Tank in September.
In a video posted to her Instagram on Monday (July 29), Gomez learns that her inner-circle has gifted her with a trip to the hit ABC investment show for her 27th birthday late last week. The video begins with clips from The Office and Friends and her pal Taylor Swift asking “Are you ready for it?” before transitioning into a Shark Tank clip followed by a personal birthday message from a Shark himself, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. “Hey, Selena, it’s Mark Cuban from Shark Tank. I just want to say: Happy 27th birthday. I hope you enjoy it.”
But that surprise was just the beginning: The next screen has the message “Shark Tank X SG. We’re Going to the Tank in September.” Gomez proceeds to fully freak out, holding her hands over her mouth in complete astonishment.
“Not many of you know but I am obsessed with shark tank,” Gomez captioned the Instagram video. “Two of my best friends nailed my gift.”
Shark Tank — which is in its 10th year on the air — allows aspiring entrepreneurs to present business ideas to a panel of Sharks who accept or reject opportunities to invest in the start-ups.
