In a unique new interview, Billie Eilish sat down with Vanity Fair to answer the same series of questions last year, on Oct. 18, 2017, and exactly one year later, on Oct. 18, 2018.
Eilish provides very illuminating results to the same questions a year later, showcasing just how much her career has changed in the short spam of time. At the time of the first interview, the “Ocean Eyes” singer hadn’t yet broken into superstar status. She revealed that she had 257,000 followers on Instagram in 2017, with the number jumping to a whopping 6.3 million followers this year.
A sadder side of Eilish was seen in the video when her younger self advised her that feeling down is a waste of time, and 2018 Billie admitted that she didn’t live up to her own words. Among other things the now-16-year-old Eilish confessed is that she envies her younger self for being able to go places without being recognized, that she shouldn’t post all her feelings online, and that she would feel guilty about having a relationship because it would be unfair to the other person.
