“Trench” and “ASIB” will both debut on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
It’s shaping up to be a major battle on the charts this week and Twenty One Pilots are ready for combat. The Columbus, Ohio, duo sent out word to their Skeleton Clique on Saturday (Oct. 6) that they foresee a sales skirmish with Lady Gaga (and Bradley Cooper) on the Billboard 200 albums charts following the release of their fifth album, Trench, which will debut in the same frame as the double album soundtrack from Gaga’s A Star is Born.

“Make the right decision today at your local record store, online, or wherever cds are sold,” the pair wrote alongside a mock movie poster for A Trench is Born, in which singer Tyler Joseph plays the Gaga to drummer Josh Dun’s Cooper.

In the midst of the skirmish, 21P will perform at the American Music Awards on Tuesday (Oct. 9), performing “Jumpsuit.” The duo will join previously-announced 2018 AMAs performers Ella Mai; Shawn Mendes, Zedd and Camila Cabello; Dua Lipa; Carrie Underwood; Mariah Carey; Taylor Swift, who will open this year’s show, benny blanco, Halsey and Khalid; Cardi B with Bad Bunny and J Balvin; Ciara and Missy Elliott; and Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Panic! At The Disco will pay homage to Queen with a performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and there will also be a special tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

The 2018 American Music Awards will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Oct. 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
