Twenty One Pilots complete the quickest trip to No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs airplay chart in nearly two years with “Level of Concern,” which rises 2-1 on the May 9-dated survey.
The last title that reached No. 1 on Alternative Songs more quickly? Twenty One Pilots’ own “Jumpsuit,” which zoomed to the top in just its second week on the list in July 2018.
“Level of Concern” marks the Ohio duo’s seventh leader, giving the act sole possession of the seventh-most No. 1s list on the chart, which began in 1988. Red Hot Chili Peppers lead all acts with 13.

Each of Twenty One Pilots’ seven No. 1s has led in the past half-decade, starting with “Stressed Out,” which ruled for 12 weeks beginning in November 2015.
The coronation of “Level of Concern” also marks the second time that the band has earned three straight No. 1s on Alternative Songs, as “Stressed Out” was followed by seven-week leader “Ride” and 11-week ruler “Heathens,” both in 2016. Its latest streak began with “Chlorine” (three weeks) and “The Hype” (seven), each in 2019.
Concurrently, “Level of Concern” rises 3-2 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart with 8.4 million audience impressions, up 18%, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. In addition to its alternative radio success, the song is bubbling under the Adult Alternative Songs airplay list.
Elsewhere, the track jumps 17-13 on Adult Pop Songs and pushes 24-23 on Pop Songs. “Level of Concern” also spends a third week atop the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Rock Songs chart.
