Troye Sivan and Kacey Musgraves take off together in a new video for their “Easy” remix, featuring Mark Ronson.
While on the run in Nashville, Sivan adopts a mullet that he cuts himself while Musgraves experiments with drugstore hair dyes. But they experience the true bliss of their escape by making pit stops at country dive bars and drag karaoke shows in the Bardia Zeinali-directed visual.
“Kacey and I are sort of like runaways,” Sivan told Vogue in an interview about the video’s concept. “We’ve separately had our own experiences…regrets, scorning our lovers…and we find solace in each other.”
“I’m not a saint so just give me the blame/ I know what I want and it gets in my way/ I know I’m not easy, darlin’,” the Grammy-winning country singer sings in her verse. “When you see me out/ I hope the taste in your mouth/ Is still as sweet as I wish it could be/ Believe me, darlin’.”
The original version of “Easy” appeared on the 25-year-old Australian pop star’s In a Dream EP from August.
