The Kid LAROI has seemingly acknowledged his breakup with Tate McRae through a recent post on X, indicating their relationship has ended after more than a year. Despite the separation, he emphasized that they are “on good terms.”
His statement came in the midst of accusations that his team had been behind negative posts about McRae, allegedly to promote his new track, “Hot Girl Problems.” Responding to the claims, he clarified: “so yall know I have NOTHING to do with this and I DO NOT co sign this behavior whatsoever.”
He also posted what appeared to be a message exchange with his team, where he shared a link to a disparaging post about McRae, writing: “Guys is this coming internally? If so can we please have these taken down.”
In the same conversation, he stated: “Tate and I are on good terms and this just looks messy / whack,” to which his team replied that they would “make moves on this” and added: “definitely didn’t come from us that’s f–ked up.”
Their relationship was first speculated in early 2024. In April of that year, LAROI referred to McRae as his “girlfriend” while she supported him backstage during a show.
Later, the pair worked together on the track “I Know Love,” featured on McRae’s album So Close to What, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Speaking about the collaboration at a listening event in February, McRae said: “It was a really funny process, because me and LAROI have never really, like, taken each other seriously,” and continued, “You know when you’re in a relationship and you sing around each other, but you don’t really, like, sing? So it was a little stressful being in the studio singing and writing in front of him, but it was a cool experience to watch him in his process.”
