Taylor Swift promised there will be “a lot going on” in the music video for “You Need to Calm Down,” and she’s setting the scene by spilling a variety of colorful teasers on social media: rainbow sprinkles, a sequined gown, a shiny crown and an oh-so dainty tea party.
One of the photos, shared on Friday (June 14) teases that “a delicious new video comes out Monday morning,” while another, posted Saturday evening, announces: “Tea time! Monday morning!”
“I wanted you to hear the song first and then see the video because the video is very worth the wait,” Swift explained in her live stream last week, when she named “You Need to Calm Down” as her next single. She noted that she wants its video, which will premiere on Monday’s (June 17) Good Morning America, to “be a separate discovery.”
“You Need to Calm Down” is the second song released from Swift’s upcoming album Lover. The full 18-track collection will be available on Aug. 23.
