Taylor Swift brought Lover to Shanghai, China, with a headlining performance held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena during Alibaba’s 11.11 Countdown Gala, a live show leading up to the e-commerce company’s annual Singles’ Day shopping extravaganza.
The pop star delivered a three-song set of her own recent singles that was televised on the evening of Nov. 10 across China.
Swift kicked things off with a lively rendition of “ME!” before sitting at the piano to sing the ballad “Lover.” Accompanied by her dancers, she topped it off with “You Need to Calm Down.”
She posted a cat meme-inspired photo of herself lounging on a small couch in her performance outfit on Instagram — where she’s been documenting her recent travels in Asia — with the caption “If it don’t fits, I still sits.”
Alibaba’s Singles’ Day Gala Show takes place each year on Nov. 10 and is broadcast live through midnight, just before Alibaba launches heavy discounts across its e-commerce services. Last year’s event pulled in $30 billion in sales in 24 hours across Alibaba’s platforms.
Swift’s performance was first announced in late October. The lineup also included Chinese singer G.E.M., local pop star Hua Chenyu, Japanese singer Kana Hanazawa and more.
