Asher Angel may only be 16, but he didn’t have a typical teenage summer. After starring in the Warner Bros. Pictures/DC Comics film SHAZAM! in the spring, Angel continued his role as Jonah Beck in the hit Disney Channel series Andi Mack. And on top of that, Angel collaborated with Wiz Khalifa on his own track “One Thought Away.”
Though we’re now heading into fall, Angel wants to celebrate his massive summer by dedicating his Takeover Tuesday playlist to some of the bops he’s been digging over the past few months. The 12-song playlist features Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes’ recent Billboard Hot 100-topping smash “Senorita,” Lizzo’s freshly No. 1 hit “Truth Hurts” and Blackpink’s bilingual banger “Kill This Love.”
Angel also shouts out some of his fellow rising stars, including pop singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin, rapper Yella Beezy and R&B newcomer Pink Sweat$ — the latter of whom Angel hopes to collaborate with next.
Check out Asher Angel’s playlist, as well as some comments from the singer, below.
