Watching aspiring singers duke it out every week is exciting. But what if you could also watch the songwriters who are going to make them stars do their thing? We’ll find out if that’s a reality you’re willing to dive into on May 28 when NBC debuts Songland, a Voice spin-off show focused on finding the next great songwriter with The Voice’s Adam Levine hosting.

The trailer for the show — which is also executive produced by Levine, Eurythmics legend/producer Dave Stewart and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder — features John Legend, the Jonas Brothers, Charlie Puth, Meghan Trainor, Macklemore, Kelsea Ballerini and Will.i.am.

“Every artist is looking for one thing: that next great song,” says Legend in the intro to the one-minute sneak peek.

“We’re going to pull back the curtains and we’re going to show you how music is made,” Tedder promises amid a montage of singers crushing the tunes written for them by the show’s competing songwriters.
