Shawn Mendes and Tainy are helping fans close out their “Summer of Love” right with their new collaboration, which debuted on Friday (Aug. 20).
The Canadian pop superstar sneakily revealed the song title earlier this month on his sweatshirt while he played a couple of guitar chords in a Twitter video captioned “sol,” meaning “sun” in Spanish. The pop star later previewed the bouncy single in another video of him driving in a convertible with the green mountains and sunset as his stunning backdrop.
His team-up with the Puerto Rican reggaetón megaproducer — who’s worked with J Balvin, Bad Bunny and many more Latin superstars and was named Billboard’s top Latin producer of the 21st century — comes a month after he hopped on the bilingual remix of “Kesi” with Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo, which broke into the top 10 of on Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
Tainy is slated to be a part of the Iconic Songwriter Q&A presented by Sony Music Publishing during the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Week in September, which will be moderated by Billboard’s VP and Latin Industry Lead Leila Cobo.
