Shawn Mendes has officially postponed his 2022 UK and European tour due to COVID-19.

The star took to social media on Friday (Jan. 28) to share the news, posting the new dates, all set for 2023. “I’m so sorry I won’t be able to see you guys sooner,” he tweeted. “We unfortunately were forced to move the UK/EU tour dates to 2023 due to the pandemic. Tour will start in June with the currently scheduled North America Dates, & the UK/EU rescheduled dates are at http://wonderthetour.com.”

The tour, in support of his Billboard 200 chart-topping album, Wonder, was originally set to kick off on March 14, 2022 at the Royal Arena Copenhagen before concluding at the WiZink Center in Madrid on May 20.

The new, 32-date run will begin on May 31, 2023 in Bologna, Italy and wrap up on August 1 in Dublin, Ireland.

At the time of publication, Mendes’ North American tour remains as scheduled, with the first leg starting on June 27, 2022, at Portland’s Moda Center before wrapping up at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Aug. 19. Leg two begins a month later on Sept. 7 in Glendale, Ariz., at Gila River Arena, with the final date of the tour ending at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Oct. 26.

In his statement, the pop star also shared that he’s “working on a ton of new music for you all,” before adding, “I’m excited for you to hear.”

Last week, Mendes shared a 12-second video to Instagram, in which he’s seen in a car on FaceTime, jamming out to a demo of a song he’s working on. The clip then cuts to Mendes in the studio, rocking out to the same, high-energy track on guitar.

The teaser video comes following the heartbroken “It’ll Be Okay,” released following his high-profile breakup with Camila Cabello.
