Selena Gomez’s kitchen duties are far from over this holiday season. The pop superstar will release a Thanksgiving special of her HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef on Thursday.
The “Selena + Aarti: Friendsgiving” holiday episode announcement came as a surprise to fans, who finished watching the season finale of Selena + Chef three months ago, in late August. But the Rare singer is back in her kitchen and ready to cook a turkey for the very first time with the virtual help of Indian chef and Food Network star Aarti Sequeira just one week before the real Turkey Day, Nov. 26.
“Never cooked a turkey before this special episode of #SelenaAndChef,” Gomez tweeted Wednesday (Nov. 18). “Thanks for the help @aartipaartipics! Selena + Aarti: Friendsgiving drops TOMORROW on @hbomax! @hbomaxpop.”
Gomez first treated fans to her 10-part Selena + Chef series on Aug. 13, which is exclusively available to stream on HBO Max. The “Ice Cream” singer prepared homemade yet gourmet meals virtually alongside 10 master chefs. Gomez also donated $10,000 to a food-related charity of the professional chef’s choosing at the end of each episode.
Selena + Chef has already been renewed for season 2.
