After an active weekend on social media, filled with Instagram Stories praising Jennifer Lopez and cute babies, Selena Gomez has announced on Monday (Sept. 24) that she’s taking another break from social media.

Updating the caption of her last picture, the “Bad Liar” singer wrote: “Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.”

Gomez also added an important reminder: “Negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings.”

On how to balance out real life and social media, the 26-year-old told ELLE in a recent interview that she doesn’t typically have Instagram on her phone, and only accesses her account from a friend’s. “The reason why is, it’s not real to me,” she said, later adding, “I know my voice is very prominent, but I’m not careless with it. I’m selective. It’s about making a conscious effort — if I can have a moment to be with my friends, I’ll take that time.”
