Sabrina Carpenter has shared that her next album, “Man’s Best Friend,” will be released on August 29. The announcement came during an Instagram Live session on Wednesday morning, where she was flipping through records by Donna Summer, ABBA, and Dolly Parton before revealing her own.
The preview included a look at the album cover, showing Carpenter on all fours while someone in black pants grabs her hair. Last week, she dropped the first single, “Manchild,” which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen. The song topped both the Spotify U.S. and Spotify Global charts and debuted with a cinematic video directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia.
“Man’s Best Friend” will mark Carpenter’s seventh studio release and arrives nearly one year after her successful album “Short n’ Sweet,” which came out last August. That record featured three singles—“Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste”—all of which reached the Billions Club on Spotify. “Short n’ Sweet” sold 10 million copies worldwide and earned Carpenter six Grammy nominations in her debut year, winning “Best Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Espresso.”
This October, she will begin the second sold-out North American leg of her “Short n’ Sweet” tour, starting in Pittsburgh on October 23. The tour will include performances at major arenas in cities like New York, Nashville, Toronto, and Los Angeles. She is scheduled to play five shows at Madison Square Garden and six at Crypto.com Arena, where the tour will wrap on November 23.
