Blondes truly have more fun, especially when paired together, as the world may soon find out when Sabrina Carpenter is joined by Dolly Parton for a new version of “Please Please Please,” set to appear on a deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning Short n’ Sweet album in February.

Other bonus tracks included in Carpenter’s upcoming expanded release are “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman,” and the intriguingly titled “Bad Reviews.”

Carpenter shared the news on her Instagram, writing: “As a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammy’s :’),” she posted, “short n’ sweet deluxe is now available for pre-order.. and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy shit!!!!!”

This comment raises the question of whether the song’s chorus will retain its “motherfucker” lyrics, considering Parton’s well-known aversion to profanity, or if that line will be altered to suit her involvement.

Carpenter took home her first two Grammys on Sunday night: Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for its lead single, the hit “Espresso.” Her performance on the awards show — a medley of that song and “Please Please Please” — was a comedic routine filled with slapstick: she performed on a staircase reminiscent of a Busby Berkeley set and performed pratfalls, seemingly referencing a 1970s Goldie Hawn special.

Both songs, released within weeks of each other last spring, became some of the biggest hits of 2024, with “Espresso” hitting No. 6 on the Variety Hitmakers Top 25 and “Please Please Please” landing at No. 14.
