Sabrina Carpenter performed her new single “Sue Me” and revealed the meaning behind the track on Live With Kelly & Ryan on Friday morning (Nov. 9).
After Carpenter’s dynamic performance, Kelly Ripa asked the singer, “What does ‘Sue Me’ mean? Who are you begging to sue you?”
“Well, somebody already did, so that’s why I wrote it,” Carpenter candidly responded. “It’s empowerment. It’s confidence. It’s being comfortable with yourself regardless of what anybody thinks.”
“Sue Me” is a single from Carpenter’s brand-new eight-track album Singular: Act 1, which came out on Friday. Carpenter will debut the second half of the two-part album early next year.
