On the track “Espresso,” Sabrina Carpenter sings, “I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer.” Now, fans can experience a virtual version of that life, with her avatar coming to Fortnite Festival.

As announced on April 7, Carpenter will be the official icon for Fortnite’s eighth season, starting April 8. Players will be able to perform her music within the game while controlling her avatar, a two-time Grammy nominee. By unlocking the season eight Music Pass, players can jam to Carpenter’s hits like “Juno” and “Nonsense” as Jam Tracks. Additionally, popular tracks like “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” “Espresso,” and “Feather” will be available for purchase in the Fortnite Shop.

Fans will also get a chance to emulate Carpenter’s style in the game. Her avatar will come with four different outfits inspired by her Short n’ Sweet Tour, including a yellow babydoll dress, an unlockable sparkly yellow bodysuit, a purchasable “Tour-Ready” outfit with a pink skirt and boots, and a baby blue version of the same ensemble. Other collectible items include a sparkly purse with a lipstick print, as well as microphones and guitars associated with the artist.

Carpenter will also introduce new emotes to the Fortnite Locker. A Dance Emote will allow players to perform the same moves, even if they don’t own the Emote. Other Emotes based on her songs “Taste” and “Please Please Please” will feature choreography synced to parts of those tracks.

The “Bed Chem” singer is the latest in a growing list of musicians to participate in Fortnite Festival, a feature introduced by Epic Games in 2023. This follows the success of Travis Scott’s virtual concert in the game, which attracted a record 12.3 million concurrent players. Past Festival icons include The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Karol G.

This announcement comes amid Carpenter’s ongoing tour in support of her chart-topping album Short n’ Sweet, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 362,000 equivalent album units in its first week, marking her biggest opening yet. After a successful run of North American shows, she is currently touring Europe, with dates running through early July.
