No, your ears were not playing tricks on you. That was actually the sound of the Boston Red Sox celebrating their walk-off victory against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night to advance to the ALCS by shouting along to a remix of Robyn’s titanic 2010 dance pop banger “Dancing on My Own.”

The scene was electric, as the players sprayed each other with beer and danced all together in the locker room while shouting “I’m in the corner, watching you kiss her, oh oh oh/ I’m right over here, why can’t you see me, oh oh oh/ And I’m giving it my all/ I’m not the guy you’re taking home, oh oh oh/ I keep dancing on my own.”

Except they weren’t alone, they were all packed in tight and frankly, the scene was bananas. Even Robyn thought so, tweeting out her one-word reaction to the scene of the baseball furies harmonizing on her Body Talk Pt. 1 sad disco anthem of heartache at watching her man dance with another woman. “Bonkers,” she commented.

The team was actually jumping around to Tiësto remix of Britain’s Got Talent finalist Calum Scott’s 2018 cover of “Dancing on My Own,” which did not matter at all to some fans who were just blown away at their wicked smaht song choice. “Wasn’t into baseball until I saw the entire Red Sox team spraying each other with champagne and singing along to Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ and now I’m a huge fan?,” tweeted one.
