Cobie Smulders teamed up with Jake Johnson for an Instagram Live on Monday (April 20) and ended up treating fans to a live snippet of “Let’s Go to the Mall.”

The magical moment went down after Johnson suggested the Stumptown co-stars turn the conversation — part of Vulture’s “Two Friends: A Nice Time Hanging Out With People Who Know Each Other Well” Instagram Live series — into a “back and forth interview” and started quizzing Smulders about her time playing Robin Scherbatsky on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother.

After fans watching the chat started requesting Smulders sing “Let’s Go to the Mall,” the Canadian pop song her character was secretly famous for on the show, Johnson playfully convinced his pal to acquiesce by challenging whether she remembered the song at all. “I think I definitely know the beginning of it, but I don’t know if I know the end,” Smulders said, to which Johnson responded, “C’mon, give us some heat, give us some heat. And I don’t want a ‘I’m kind of shy’ six. Give us a goddamn ten; we’re all living COVID-19, give us a damn ten! If you’re gonna do it Cobie, freaking do it.”

Finally, after some more coaxing and a well-placed expletive aimed at her friend, Smulders launched into the first verse of the novelty track. “Come on Jessica, come on Tori/ Let’s go to the mall, you won’t be sorry,” she sang before revealing she’s been toying with the idea of putting together an acoustic version of the fictional Robin Sparkles single.

Watch Smulders croon “Let’s Go to the Mall” and prepare to rock your body ’til Canada Day below.
