P!nk dropped the moving trailer for her tour documentary All I Know So Far on Tuesday (May 11), in which the singer strives to balance the seemingly impossible task of being a full-time mom during a rigorous tour. Except, when you’re P!nk, sometimes the impossible might just be possible. “I always wanted to be a rock star,” she says in the opening frame of the two-minute preview.
Blow-drying her towering blonde hair in a mirror, she adds, “I dreamed of being a mom,” as an image of her daughter Willow and son Jameson holding hands with husband Carey Hart fills the screen. “And now, to have my family and my team and my fans here with me… this is beyond my wildest dreams.”
The look behind-the-scenes of the singer’s 159-show 2018-2019 Beautiful Trauma world tour takes us from rehearsals for her signature high-wire stunts to touching backstage moments with her family and crew, as director Michael Gracey explores the tricky balance of taking a young family on an elaborate global trek. The montage of scenes from the outing’s colorful set pieces is interrupted at one point by little Jameson literally tugging on his mommy’s shirt tales as he cries, “momma! momma!” during a costume fitting.
“There’s no way a mother can walk away from her babies and not think about them every single second,” P!nk says amid images of Jameson dancing along at rehearsals and Willow chilling backstage during a show. “A lot of moms stop touring because you can’t imagine being able to do both.”
Somehow, though, they find a way and the tour turns into its own crazy kind of global summer camp, complete with huge family meals, drum, viola and aerial lessons and, yes, a backstage ball pit. The film, which debuts on Amazon Prime video on May 21, will be accompanied by a 16-track RCA Records soundtrack, All I Know So Far: Setlist. Tha album features live takes on such iconic hits as “Just Like a Pill,” “Just Give Me a Reason” and “So What” as well as her MTV Video Vanguard Award Speech, covers of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Are the Champions” and her heart-swelling duet with Willow, “Cover Me in Sunshine.”
The cinematic, Dave Meyers-directed clip for the title track debuted earlier this week.
