Evan Stanley, the son of KISS’ Paul Stanley, lends his vocals to a cover of “Memories” by Maroon 5 with the special help of actor Bryan Cranston.

In the cinematic Kristian Lundin-directed visual, Stanley and his friend find themselves stranded in the middle of the desert after their truck runs out of gas, only for the Breaking Bad star to come to their rescue — with a pair of bongos. After saving them from their boredom by supplying backup for the acoustic cover of Maroon 5’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, Cranston eventually makes the solo trek to the gas station so the trio can finally head home.

“A lot of that drive is open desert with nothing around, and at one point I saw my fuel gauge getting lower with no gas station in sight. It got me pretty nervous about getting stranded, but also gave me an amazing idea,” Stanley said in a statement. “I had recently recorded my own version of Maroon 5’s ‘Memories,’ but didn’t want to make just another cover video. Bryan Cranston’s created some of the most iconic characters in history, so I’m beyond lucky that he was willing to come on board and help bring my crazy idea to life.”

At the end of the visual, Stanley encourages viewers to donate to SEL4CA, which promotes social emotional learning in the state of California.
