If you’re worried that Shakira doesn’t rock hard enough to bring the thunder at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show, the singer provided some proof last week that she can indeed rock you like a hurricane. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, who will co-headline the massive gig with Jennifer Lopez at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, on Feb. 2, appeared to smack down any potential haters by posting a fizzy acoustic cover of a 1994 pop-punk classic.

“Me, being a basket case with my producer…” the singer wrote alongside a one-minute video in which she gives Green Day’s Dookie classic “Basket Case” a makeover with a stronger emphasis on the song’s pop side.

Shakira recently stopped by Apple Music’s Beats 1 to talk about the big gig. “It’s going to be on my birthday,” she said of her upcoming 43rd bday NFL blowout celebration. “I’ve always wanted to perform at the Super Bowl. I think it’s like the holy grail of the entertainment industry. It’s a sports event, but it has a huge relevance for us artists, and I think it’s going to be fantastic. And I’m going to be celebrating my birthday with 100 million people.”
