Fryd Frydendahl – MØ
MØ added to the buzz surrounding her much anticipated album Forever Neverland with the release of her new track “Blur” on Monday (Oct. 15).
“Blur” features a catchy chorus of MØ’s distorted vocals, followed by a rhythmic beat drop, the backbone of exactly the kind of electro-pop dance hit MØ is known for. In the song, MØ sings of a life where she has taken the backseat, fighting to regain control and break out of her trapped routine. “Let me out, I’m trapped in a blur,” she sings. “Started out the way I wanted but it’s weird now.”
For MØ, writing “Blur” was a way to find solace after months of traveling between continents while on tour. “‘Blur’ is about feeling lost, and on a personal level I would be lying if I didn’t mention that this song, for me, was about feeling creatively and artistically lost in the city of all great opportunities, Los Angeles,” MØ said in a release.
After years of teasing and tiding fans over with collaborations and surprise EPs, MØ finally announced the release of her sophomore album, Forever Neverland, a follow-up to 2014’s No Mythologies to Follow.
Since her album debut, the 30-year-old Danish singer has collaborated with artists like Justin Bieber and DJ Snake on the chart-topping single “Cold Water,” but now it’s time for MØ to once again flex her solo chops with this long-awaited comeback.
MØ has already released a handful of songs from the 14-track album, including “Way Down” and her Diplo collaboration “Sun in Our Eyes.” Forever Neverland features guest appearances from artists like Charli XCX, Empress Of and Two Feet.
