Miley Cyrus has announced the upcoming release of her visual album Something Beautiful, set to drop on May 30.
While further details about the album are limited, the singer confirmed that the project will include 13 original tracks. Executive producers for the album are Cyrus herself, alongside Shawn Everett, who has previously collaborated with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. She also revealed the album’s cover, photographed by Glen Luchford, featuring Cyrus in a 1997 archival Thierry Mugler couture piece. The album is now available for preorder in multiple formats, including signed vinyl, CDs, limited-edition vinyl, and two special box sets with exclusive collectibles.
Over the past week, Cyrus has been teasing Something Beautiful on her social media, updating her headers with subtle hints about the album’s title and showcasing posters and billboards in locations such as Brazil, the Netherlands, and Argentina.
Her last release, Endless Summer Vacation, came out in March 2023, with the hit single “Flowers” leading the way. The track became a massive success, holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and shattering multiple streaming records. “Flowers” won two Grammys, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while Endless Summer Vacation received nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
However, “Flowers” is currently at the center of a copyright dispute. Tempo Music Investments filed a lawsuit in September 2024, accusing Cyrus of copying Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man.” Tempo owns the catalog rights for Philip Lawrence, who co-wrote the song with Mars. A judge recently denied Cyrus’ request to dismiss the lawsuit, paving the way for a trial to take place.
