“Summer Days” are here again, and Martin Garrix has a cross-genre sing-along coming to warm your speakers. The palm-tree-laced teaser promises vocals from thoughtful rapper Macklemore and Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump. The single is set for release Thursday at 8 a.m. ET.
Garrix confirmed the collaboration on Twitter, but he shared a short sonic snippet to YouTube. From what we can hear, it’s an earworm vying for radio play. It sounds a little romantic, with a minor-chord organ melody, because who doesn’t like their sunny hits with a touch of gray?
Maklemore and his production partner Ryan Lewis have never shied away from a dance-ready vibe. Fall Out Boy too, with their radio-friendly pop-punk, have previously collaborated with Steve Aoki. Will this alignment of star power register a hit? We don’t have to wait long to find out. Check the teasers below, and look out for “Summer Days” on Thursday.
