Leave it to a #TBT post to bring back a beloved picture of two of pop’s biggest stars, where Mariah Carey continues to prove that Britney Spears will always be one of her favorites.
Posting the photo on her social media channels, Carey mentioned that she has visions of reuniting and taking an updated photo with Spears, 2018 style. “#TBT with @britneyspears” the caption read, before adding, “we need a new pic, Brit” with a couple emojis added in.
Fans of course freaked out over the post, hoping that one day the friendship might turn into a collaboration. The two divas have both spent a great deal of their time lately in Las Vegas, with Mariah in the midst of her “The Butterfly Returns” residency at Caesars Palace, and Britney’s “Piece Of Me” residency at Planet Hollywood wrapping up late last year. Due to the success of Spears’ residency, the set was turned into an official Piece Of Me Tour, hitting venues across the U.S. this summer and heading to Europe in August.
