Mariah Carey visited Good Morning America on Monday (Nov. 19) to perform “With You,” a track off of her newly-released album Caution.

After her melodic performance, Carey, who hasn’t performed on a live morning show in over three years, spoke with GMA’s Michael Strahan about her music, both new and old.

The songstress discussed how Caution, her 15th studio album, reflects where she is in her life right now. “There’s a lot of feel good records,” Carey said. “I’m in a good place.”

Despite the overall upbeat vibe of Caution, Carey highlighted one of the album’s more introspective songs, “Portrait,” as the one she’s “most proud of.” “It’s a process of me healing myself and helping other people hopefully as well,” Carey said of the song.

Carey also addressed the resurgence of her 2001 album Glitter, which recently leapt to No.1 on the iTunes charts. Although Glitter, the soundtrack to her movie of the same name, was a commercial flop and a professional struggle for Carey, she revealed that she’s no longer ashamed of the album, especially after support from her fans pushed it to the top of the charts.

“I never really perform those songs because it almost ruined my life,” Carey said. “But the truth is, it’s for the nostalgia now because it’s actually a really good album.
