Maggie Lindemann is celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday (March 8) by covering No Doubt’s 1995 hit single “Just a Girl.”
The “Pretty Girl” singer released her cover after releasing her debut EP PARANOIA in January. She announced today that she’ll perform all eight songs from her latest project in a live virtual concert from Los Angeles’ The Roxy on April 9, 2021, at 9 p.m. ET. Her show will also stream in Asia and Australia on April 10 at 8 p.m. AET and in Europe at 8 p.m. GMT. Tickets will go on sale for $15 Friday here.
“I chose to do the ‘Just a Girl’ cover because I felt it was a really appropriate song lyrically for Women’s History Month and I grew up on Gwen Stefani,” the 22-year-old pop singer said in a statement. “My mom loved No Doubt and would always play them, so it just felt right to cover it.”
She told Billboard in a recent interview that she found inspiration from Stefani, No Doubt, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Evanescence and Flyleaf for her pop-punk sound in her PARANOIA EP.
