LP announced on Thursday (Oct. 11) that her fifth studio album, Heart to Mouth, is set to be released on Dec. 7 via BMG/Vagrant. The indie rock songstress has also released the video for her newest single, “Recovery.”

“When I get on the mic and start doing melodies, I can feel that direct line from my heart to my mouth,” LP says in a statement of the album’s title. “In the past, there was a city full of streets that needed my attention. Now, I feel like I have a major highway to communicate emotion from. Whether they’re sadder songs or big anthems, they all come from the same place.”

LP communicates this emotion in “Recovery,” the second single from the record. Backed by stripped back piano instrumentals, LP’s vocals are tinged with honesty and sadness as she details the dissolution of a failed relationship that is difficult to move on from.

“Recovery” follows “Girls Go Wild,” which the songwriter released back in June. Heart To Mouth is now available for pre-order and includes “Recovery” and “Girls Go Wild” upon downloading the album.
