Since One Direction’s split in 2015 and a handful of Louis Tomlinson solo songs since, fans have been itching for a full album. Their wish finally came true on Friday (Jan. 31), when the crooner released his debut album, Walls.

The album features already-released singles, including the title track, “We Made It,” “Kill My Mind,” “Don’t Let It Break Your Heart” and the heartbreaking tribute to his late mother, “Two of Us.” They all feature a poignant theme of overcoming heartbreak and tragedy, and coming out on the other side stronger.

“I think there’s … different moments in my life, different emotions, but overall, I hope it’s honest,” Tomlinson recently told Billboard of his first solo effort. “I’m always trying to humanize myself as much as possible and make myself relatable to fans, and I think with honesty, you can do that, you know what I mean? Because there’s a lot of Hollywood lyrics out there, there’s a lot of lyrics that feel a little make believe to me. So, I think being honest, it can pull on the heartstrings then, you know what I mean?”
