Lisa, already a global pop sensation thanks to her work with Blackpink, is making 2025 her breakout year as a solo artist. She’s already dropped her new single “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and Raye, made her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus, and is gearing up to release her first solo album Alter Ego on February 28.

Now, adding to her growing list of accomplishments, the Thai artist is venturing into the world of comics with the launch of ALTER-EGO: THE OFFICIAL COMIC, a companion to her album. This marks the debut of Lalisa Comics, in collaboration with Zero Zero Entertainment.

The 56-page comic draws inspiration from the themes of her Alter Ego album, introducing five unique characters—Roxi, Kiki, Vixi, Sunni, and Speedi—each representing a different aspect of Lisa’s personality. The comic is described as telling a story of “transformation, courage, and unity.”

The artwork is brought to life by Japanese illustrator MINOMIYABI, known for working with artists like Gorillaz, Poppy, and Yungblud.

Lisa joins artists like Metro Boomin and BoyWithUke in partnering with Zero Zero Entertainment, a company founded by CEO Josh Frankel, former owner and publisher of Z2 Comics. The company has collaborated with icons like Elvis Presley, Blondie, Weird Al Yankovic, and K-pop group NCT 127. Lalisa Comics is named after Lisa’s full name, Lalisa Manobal.

Josh Frankel spoke about the collaboration, saying, “Working with Lisa represents an entirely new level of opportunity and prestige. She is undeniably one of the biggest stars in the world, making this collaboration both an incredible honor and a significant milestone for us. What I find particularly fascinating is that she’s not just a global icon but also one of the most exceptional performers of our time. That level of artistry and dedication to excellence is always inspiring to collaborate with.”

He further explained that Lisa’s ALTER EGO storyline brings a fresh take on the typical musician-comic collaboration model. “The Zero Zero process is all about collaborating with artists to create unique, story-driven merchandise. When it comes to comics, we work closely with the artist and their team to develop the story, translating it into an art script that guides the visual storytelling. Once the artwork is complete, a writer steps in to refine the narrative by adding dialogue, ensuring the final product aligns with the artist’s vision. With ‘ALTER EGO,’ the approach was slightly different. Since the story was already embedded in the album, our role was to expand and elevate that narrative, shaping it into a compelling 56-page comic.”

Fans can pre-order ALTER-EGO: THE OFFICIAL COMIC starting today at LalisaComics.com, with the first issue expected to ship in March. The artwork offers a glimpse into the comic, inspired by moments from Lisa’s album rollout, including visuals from her singles “Rockstar” and “Moonlit Floor.”
