LISA of BLACKPINK recently shared a fun moment with her White Lotus co-star Tayme Thapthimthong, as they grooved to the 1996 classic “No Diggity” by Blackstreet and Dr. Dre.
In a video posted to Max’s Instagram, the two are seen sitting in press-junket chairs, with Thapthimthong showing off his vocal skills while LISA laughs and dances along. He sings the opening lines: “Shorty get down, good Lord/ Baby got ’em up open all over town/ Strictly biz, she don’t play around/ Cover much grounds, got game by the pound.” LISA, getting a bit impatient, chimes in, saying, “Where’s the hook? I need the hook!”
Thapthimthong then delivers the iconic hook, which prompts LISA to join in, singing, “I like the way you work it/ No diggity, I got to bag it up.” After his impromptu performance, LISA cheers and claps for him.
This lighthearted clip comes just before the much-anticipated White Lotus season 3 finale, airing on Max on Sunday (April 3). In the series, LISA plays Mook, an employee at the Thailand location of the fictional hotel chain, and the object of affection for Thapthimthong’s character, Gaitok, a shy security guard who harbors a huge crush on her.
The video also arrives amid reports of creative tensions between the show’s composer, Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, and creator Mike White. Tapia de Veer, who had creative disagreements with White since the first season, announced he would be leaving the show after this season in an interview with the New York Times published on Thursday (April 3).
“It’s kind of weird right now because I announced to the team a few months ago that I was not coming back, that I was leaving,” Tapia de Veer said. “I didn’t tell Mike for various reasons; I wanted to tell him just at the end for the shock and whatever.”
