Lauren Jauregui brought the drama on Monday night’s (May 6) Late Late Show. Standing under a towering arch of roses in a flowing black dress with jeweled accents, the former Fifth Harmony member turned James Corden’s Stage 56 into a smoky jazz club with her impassioned, gritty performance of debut solo single “Expectations.”
“Wish I had no expectations/ Really wish that I could get it through your head,” she sang with a urgent gruffness in her voice. The singer swayed in place as her guitarist ripped off a searing blues solo to bring the smoldering tune home.
Jauregui apologized to fans in April for her “awol energy” after going silent on social media as she works on her anticipated debut album, which is due out this year. After releasing “Expectations” in October, the singer followed up with the sultry “More Than That” in January.
