Lana Del Rey is continuing to take us through her Norman Fucking Rockwell world with her new double video for “Fuck It I Love You” and “The Greatest” on Thursday (Aug. 22). It comes on the same day as LDR’s Billboard cover story.
The first half of the nearly 10-minute-long, nostalgic clip shows the singer-songwriter fully submerged in her element: surfing, singing alone on an intimate stage and painting.
After seeing water shots aplenty, it moves to “The Greatest,” where LDR takes us to the boardwalk and hangs out with friends at a casual dive bar. “LA is in flames‚ it’s getting hot/ Kanye West is blond and gone/ ‘Life on Mars’ ain’t just a song/ Oh, the lifestream’s almost on,” she sings toward the very end of the track, co-produced by Jack Antonoff.

Lana Del Rey on Finding Her Voice and Following Her Muse: ‘I Have Never Taken a Shortcut’
“I mean, God, I have never taken a shortcut — and I think that’s going to stop now,” LDR told Billboard of her music in her brand-new cover story. “It hasn’t really served me well to go by every instinct. It’s the longer, more arduous road. But it does get you to the point where, when everyone is just copying each other, you’re like, ‘I know myself well enough that I don’t want to go to that foam rave in a crop top.’”
The full album is set for release on Aug. 30.
