Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this May.
The highly anticipated free concert will take place on May 3, and it will be broadcast live on Multishow and TV Globo starting at 9 p.m. BRT. The event is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis for those who arrive at Copacabana Beach near the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel.
“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio–for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters,” Gaga shared on X this Friday. “I’ve been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized. Your understanding that I needed that time to heal meant the world to me. I am now coming back and I feel better than ever and am working so hard to make sure this show is one you will never forget. Get ready for MAYHEM on the beach.”
This performance on Copacabana Beach marks the debut of Todo Mundo no Rio, an initiative by Bonus Track and presented by Corona, aimed at showcasing the influence of entertainment in Rio de Janeiro. Bonus Track, known for organizing major events such as Madonna’s 2024 “Celebration” tour finale, the Rolling Stones’ 2006 concert, and Paul McCartney’s Brazilian tours since 1990, is responsible for producing the event alongside Live Nation.
Copacabana Beach has seen major pop performances in the past. Last May, Madonna held a free concert there, concluding her “Celebration” tour with around 1.6 million attendees. In 2006, The Rolling Stones played to about 1.5 million fans, and in 1994, Rod Stewart performed for roughly 4.2 million people on New Year’s Eve.
Gaga is also preparing for the release of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, which is set to drop on March 7. The album includes previously released singles such as “Disease,” “Die With a Smile” featuring Bruno Mars, and “Abracadabra.”
Before heading to Rio, Gaga will perform at Coachella on April 11 and 18. She will also be honored with the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award at the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17.
