A 4.2 magnitude earthquake shook up California’s San Fernando Valley on Thursday morning (July 30), and celebs from Kelly Clarkson to Lil Nas X were feeling the earth move all the way in Los Angeles.
“My children are in my arms and we are awake too early because of that earthquake but now they’re discussing how their ninja skills would totally help in this time,” Clarkson tweeted. “I’m just happy they’re more interested and curious about it and less scared. Hallelujah!”
Lil Nas X took a more humorous bent to the situation, sharing an amusing clip of Spongebob Squarepants’ Squidward insisting, “You guys know I was just kidding, right?” along with the caption, “God after creating that earthquake.”
Meanwhile, artists like JoJo and Marshmello offered more sardonic takes on the scary rumbling in the Valley. “My preparedness for an earthquake is the same as the US government for COVID-19. None,” the big-voiced pop singer wrote, while the helmeted DJ tweeted, “If that #earthquake is any clue of what’s next in 2020, I’m done.”
