Katy Perry bared her baby bump during an interview with Australian radio program The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Sunday (July 19).
Calling in via Zoom, the pregnant pop star revealed that she was wearing a crop top from her latest line of Smile merch before standing up to give the camera a peek at her growing belly.
“I was like, I wanted to wear this piece of merch that I had made for my record, but I was like, ‘It’s a crop top…Can I wear that? I’m gonna be a mom,’ I was like, ‘F–k it! I can still be young and fun and wear a crop top!'” she playfully declared to host Kyle Sandilands, before rising to again reveal her baby bump.
During the chat, Perry also opened up about how she was able to keep her pregnancy with fiancé Orlando Bloom a secret for such a long time.
“Not many, because I’m very voluptuous,” she said of how many people had asked her if she was pregnant ahead of her reveal in the music video for her single “Never Worn White.”
“I think in a pop star’s life, usually the conversation every three months — especially when she’s dating someone — is, ‘Are you pregnant? Pregnant yet? You pregnant now? Now? Is that Taco Bell?’…It’s like, it’s only annoying if you let it be annoying.”
The singer also shot down recent rumors circulating around the internet that Jennifer Aniston was going to be the soon-to-be-born tot’s godmother. “No, we have no idea where it came from,” she said, while also admitting the actress does happen to be “good friends” with Bloom. “But, you know, that is the product of the media and the internet. You should definitely believe everything that you read.”
Perry’s long-awaited fifth album, Smile, is set to drop Aug. 14 via Columbia Records.
