An American Idol judge’s job can’t be contained to just one screen. Oh no, if you’re going to do it right, you need to have a strong Twitter game as well.

And on Monday (April 5), Katy Perry joined the upper echelon of Idol-ators when she hilariously live tweeted the second night of the all-star and duets and solo round via a series of meme-tastic posts.

Perry and fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie have been good about Twitter-hyping the singing competition hard on show nights over the past few years, but she seemed to kick it into a new gear on Monday with her playful posts. That included some rockin’ support for Casey Bishop, after the 15-year-old blew up the stage again with a cover of Paramore’s “Decode” and a duet with Incubus’ Brandon Boyd on his band’s “Wish You Were Here.”

“Don’t forget to make that stage YOUR B—H,” Perry tweeted.

She got all Forrest Gump on Caleb Kennedy after he crushed the Allman Brothers’ “Midnight Rider,” and then matched up with Jason Aldean on his “Fly Over States,” when the country superstar suggested Caleb step out from behind is “crutch.” “Actual footage of @calebkennedy taking @Jason_Aldean’s advice and getting rid of his crutch (aka his ) [guitar emoji],” she wrote along with doctored footage of the Tom Hanks classic.

She also had to give props to 15-year-old Ava August when she cruised through Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” “before she’s even old enough to get her drivers license NBD,” Perry wrote along with a Friday meme.

Perry, a veteran of the beloved Warped Tour, asked viewers to raise their hands if they’d watch Colin Jamieson bring his swagger to that legendary punk summer outing following his rocking Bruno Mars “Locked Out of Heaven” cover.

The singer, who knows a thing or two about glitzy outfits, was totally digging Mary Jo Young’s glittery top during her run through Ed Sheeran’s “Castle on the Hill,” which was just barely outshined by guest duet parter Jewel’s avalanche of bling. “Don’t know which shined brighter the sequins or the harmonies,” she tweeted.

She got downright jealous that Hannah Everheart gave so much love to Jason Aldean, using a beloved Michael Jordan meme to express herself. “@Jason_Aldean has known @hannahjeverhart 5mins and already gets ribs,” she wrote after the pair ruled the stage with a cover of Aldean’s “She’s Country.”

She had food jokes and a Spongebob Squarepants image for the combo of Josh Groban and Beane, writing, “I’ll take another order of that @joshgroban spice + @beanemusic soup pls.”

Katy was thinking what so many of us were at home when curls-for-days belter Madison Watkins went toe-to-toe with fellow perfect hair club for women charter member Tori Kelly in what she dubbed their “Vocal Olympics” take on Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing.”

Katy also admitted that Jewel might have been on to something when she noted that Hunter Metts bears a dead-on resemblance to actor Ryan Philippe. She said Liahona Olayan kicked things into overdrive with her high-stepping cover of Audrey Mika’s “Just Friends,” while the question for rocker Chayce Beckham was, simply, “can you please teach @LukeBryan how to be cool without trying so hard?”

And, after R&B powerhouse Jason Warrior blasted the episode off with a smoldering run through The Weeknd’s “Call Out My Name,” she credited him with solving the difficult Venn Diagram of old school, new school and “his school.”
