Fresh off her second season as a judge on American Idol, Katy Perry is gearing up to get back to the pop star business. The singer surprised fans on Tuesday morning (May 28) with the announcement of what appears to be a new single, “Never Really Over,” due out on Friday (May 31).

The tease came alongside an image of Perry in a bright orange dress, blonde hair swirling around her head in the wind.

Perry recently joined Daddy Yankee for a colorful performance of their remix “Con Calma” at last week’s Idol finale. Her most recent album, June 2017’s Witness, featured the singles “Chained to the Rhythm,” “Bon Appétit,” and “Swish Swish.”

A spokesperson for Perry could not be reached at press time for additional comment or details about the song.
