Justin Bieber’s latest track “Go Baby,” a musical dedication to his wife Hailey Bieber, has been highlighted by the American Heart Association for its suitability in teaching hands-only CPR.
“Bieber is back!” the AHA shared in an Instagram update on Monday (July 28). “And this new song could help you save a life with hands-only CPR.” They advised that “if you see a teen or adult collapse, remember two simple steps: Call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of @lilbieber’s ‘GO BABY.’”
Bieber acknowledged the post by resharing it and included a heart eyes emoji in his response. ++++++
With a rhythm of 120 beats per minute, the song fits within the ideal BPM range for CPR training, joining well-known songs like the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” (103 BPM), ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” (101 BPM), Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” (119 BPM), and Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” (100 BPM).
In addition to its practical use, the piece—written by Bieber along with Tobias Jesso Jr., Carter Lang, Eddie Benjamin, and others—is also a romantic gesture to Hailey, as shown in lines like: “That’s my baby, she’s iconic/ iPhone case, lip gloss on it/ And, oh my days, she keeps ‘em talkin’,” and “It’s comedy, just block it out, my baby/ When sunlight turns to shadows, and it gets hard to face/ Like water to a flower, babe, I know you need the rain.”
