It’sIt’s only Monday (May 6), but it’s not too early to make your Friday (May 10) plans, since Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber have just shared the first official taste of their eagerly anticipated upcoming collaboration. The pair first hinted a some kind of project last week with matching side-by-side pics with the caption “10,” which some fans suspected was a hint at the release date.
Bieber then posted an Instagram story with footage of Sheeran in a studio holding a laptop and playing an untitled track, with a tropical pop beat and a brief snippet of Bieber singing, “We at a party we don’t wanna be at…” before the music cuts off. Bieber also seemed to confirm the release date, tweeting, “It’s happening. #friday,” and adding the audio to his Instagram.
At press time, neither camp had made an official announcement about the details of the project. The new music would be Bieber’s first solo release since 2015’s Purpose. During a surprise appearance at Ariana Grande’s Coachella set Justin said his fourth album is coming soon, just weeks after announcing an indefinite hiatus from music. The last time the pair worked together was when Sheeran co-wrote Bieber’s 2015 hit “Love Yourself” with Benny Blanco and Justin.
