The world thought Justin Bieber ate a burrito sideways last week. The world was wrong.
Many had strong opinions about a supposed photo of Bieber chowing down on a burrito, starting from the middle, on a park bench Thursday (Oct. 25). Some questioned if Bieber knew how burritos work. Some wondered if he was confusing his burrito with corn on the cob. Some felt angered, even haunted, by the image. Chrissy Teigen weighed in with an unpopular opinion, commenting that it was “the only way they should be eaten tbh, ends are just carb factories.”
In a reveal video titled “We Fooled the Internet w/ Fake Justin Bieber Burrito Photo” uploaded Sunday (Oct. 28), the guys behind the Yes Theory YouTube channel admitted that the whole thing was a farce. They staged the entire thing — with a Justin Bieber look-alike, not the real deal — to see if the photo would go viral and were blown away by the results. (Bieber has yet to comment on the prank.)
“What if he’s caught doing really weird stuff, like eating a burrito sideways?” they said early on in the video. “Sitting alone in a park, just bites sideways on the burrito.”
