The Jonas Brothers brought a burst of color — and an unexpected medley — to Saturday Night Live for the first time in a decade on May 11.
The trio made their first appearance on the show in 2009, and were clearly thrilled to return to NBC’s Studio 8H as they get ready for the drop of their next album, Happiness Begins (out June 7).
Moments after they appeared as three party-loving boys with a penchant for property damage in a Judge Court sketch, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas donned coordinating scarlet ensembles to play through “Sucker,” the single that officially brought their hiatus to an end and earned them their first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The video for the track features their leading ladies and piles of bright balloons, and though Sophie Turner, Priyanka Chopra and Danielle Jonas didn’t make a cameo alongside them on SNL, the vibrant inflatables did.
In spite of a sharp showing that had Joe and Nick nailing every sky-high note, none of the balloons — which crawled up the walls and crowded the studio’s stage — popped during their spirited performance of “Sucker.”

They slowed things down for “Cool” without losing any intensity as Nick and Joe traded off verses and belted out every word. Joe cut the track short and announced they’d be “taking things back,” and the beat picked up for a full-throttle closer of “Burnin’ Up” — the single off their 2008 album, A Little Bit Longer — that had the crowd shrieking with delight.
