Star Shooter/MediaPunch /IP – Imagine Dragons headline the Radio 104.5’s second of two nights 11th Birthday Celebration at BB&T on June 30, 2018 in Camden, N.J.

With a fifth No. 1, the band extends its record for the most leaders on the chart.
Imagine Dragons replace themselves yet again atop Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, this time with “Natural,” which zooms 5-1 on the ranking dated Aug. 25.

By doing so, the band banks its record-extending fifth No. 1 on the chart, which launched in 2009.

“Natural” gains in all metrics, rising by 19 percent in U.S. streams (to 8 million), 4 percent in downloads sold (19,000) in the week ending Aug. 16, and 17 percent in radio audience impressions (27 million) in the week ending Aug. 19, according to Nielsen Music.

Imagine Dragons’ previous three singles (“Whatever It Takes,” “Thunder” and “Believer,” following first leader “Radioactive” in 2013) ruled the ranking, which the band has led for all but five weeks since the March 25, 2017-dated list, when Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” crowned the list between Oct. 14-Nov. 11, 2017. During this span, Imagine Dragons have replaced themselves at No. 1 four times.

“Natural” continues to make strides on the rock radio charts, led by the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, where it jumps 5-2 with 10.1 million rock radio-only audience impressions. Additionally, it’s the Alternative Songs airplay chart’s greatest gainer (up 13 percent in spins in the week ending Aug. 19) at No. 3. It also jumps 39-36 on Mainstream Rock Songs and debuts at No. 35 on Adult Alternative Songs.

The track is a one-off single recorded by the band for ESPN College Football’s 2018 coverage, a distinction the band also held with the 2015 edition, with “Roots.”
